Susie Crandall · Master bath after a flood

I reached out to Universe Construction due to the aftermath of a flooded Master bathroom. I was able to reach a person right away and schedule an estimate a couple days later. The estimate was within our budget and we were so happy to get started asap due to a horrible year of dealing with insurance, rebuilding ourselves and not hearing back from a previous contractor. Annette was the Project Manager and walked us through the whole process. She was really great to work with and went the extra mile, to help us. The tile work was beautiful, The plumber was excellent fixing some of the problems we had. Electrician, Demo, painting, Cleaner, glass no complaints. Just really happy dealing with friendly, nice, hardworking professionals. I like that they were able to do smaller jobs and appreciate the owner reaching out and thanking us for business. Would recommend this company to family and friends.

I had a really great experience with this contractor! Like any renovation project a lot of things can go wrong along the way, but Esre Is someone you can trust. He made sure to correct any error that was made and personally made sure we were happy with the results, and we are very happy.

  jane · Basement apartment

I recently worked with Universe Construction to transform what was once a raw concrete basement into a fully finished and independent apartment. The result exceeded every expectation.

From the beginning, the team focused on my preferences and delivered highly customized work. They handled the concrete floors, exposed beams, and structural challenges with real skill and turned the space into something that feels brand new.

  Highlights of my experience:

Speed and efficiency: They moved quickly, kept the project on track, and updated me regularly.

Communication: Every question I had was answered clearly. They were easy to reach and very responsive.

Problem resolution: A few issues came up during the project, which is normal, but Esre and the team handled them immediately and professionally.

Quality of work: The craftsmanship throughout the apartment is excellent. The finish work, layout, and overall feel are exactly what I hoped for.

Professionalism: The crew respected my space, stayed organized, and kept things clean.

Universe Construction turned an unfinished basement into a comfortable, high quality living area that fits my vision perfectly. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a contractor in the Wasatch area, especially for basement finishing or customized remodels.

  Kristen Knight · Basement finish

We hired Universe Construction to finish our basement, and like any construction project, we ran into some challenges.

Unfortunately, we found ourselves in the middle of a subcontractor change that we didn’t know about at the time. Because of that, communication broke down, and we ended up being the ones catching mistake after mistake. Most notably electrical problems and missing HVAC (even though drywall was already up). It was stressful, and we started to worry that we’d made the wrong choice. When the subcontractor told us the job was “finished,” we looked around and were shocked at how poor the quality was. To name just a few issues: no caulking on any trim, paint drips everywhere (on windows, hinges, and baseboards), doors that were never painted even though they should have been, a cheap shelving system instead of the custom one we paid for, missed texture on walls—the list goes on.

We brought our concerns to Esre, the owner, and he came to see the work himself. He immediately agreed that it wasn’t up to the standard his company stands for and promised to make it right. What impressed us most was his integrity. He didn’t make excuses or try to place blame. Even though we had already paid in full, he brought in a new crew and had the entire basement redone so it met the quality he promises his clients. We were honestly relieved and incredibly grateful for how he handled everything.

A special shoutout to Taylor, the tile guy, his craftsmanship and attention to detail is outstanding. That part of the project went perfectly, and if you’re lucky enough to get him on your job, you’re in great hands.

We understand that things can go wrong in construction, but our project had more than its fair share of problems. That’s why we can’t say enough good things about Esre and Universe Construction. He stands by his word, genuinely cares about his customers, and made sure we ended up with a basement we love. We’d hire him again in a heartbeat and recommend him to anyone finishing or renovating their home.

I recently hired Universe Construction to remodel my kitchen, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. From start to finish, the team was professional, communicative, and detail-oriented.

They took the time to understand my vision, offered practical design suggestions, and provided a clear estimate that they stuck to. I always knew where the project stood thanks to consistent updates.

Quality of Work: The craftsmanship is outstanding. The cabinetry fits perfectly, the countertops are beautifully installed, and every finish looks high-end. They paid attention to the small details—things like trim, alignment, and cleanup—that really set their work apart.

The crew showed up on time each day, worked efficiently, and kept the work area clean. The project was completed on schedule, which was a huge plus.

  Overall Experience:

My kitchen has been completely transformed, and it’s now both functional and stunning. I get compliments from everyone who sees it. I highly recommend Universe Construction to anyone considering a remodel—they exceeded my expectations in every way.
