The East Bench is the foothill side of Salt Lake City, not an incorporated city of its own. Houses here are Salt Lake City houses. Yalecrest, also called Harvard-Yale, sits on this bench and has its own page.

People use the name for a wide stretch of foothill neighborhoods. The East Bench Community Council describes its area as east of Foothill Drive, from Sunnyside Avenue to Parley's and I-80, including St. Mary's, Oak Hills, and Arcadia Heights. Yalecrest is south of Sunnyside and is a different set of streets. If the house is in Yalecrest, start on that page. If it is elsewhere in these foothills, the permit is still Salt Lake City's.
The houses are not one era. Some are early twentieth-century cottages. Later ones sit higher on the hill. A low, already-finished basement and a newer unfinished one are different bids. We do not price a wall from the street, and we do not label a gallery photo as an East Bench job.
