Basement finishing on Salt Lake City's East Bench
The East Bench is the foothill side of Salt Lake City, not a separate city. A basement here might be a low, older finish or a later house with space still open. Yalecrest, south of Sunnyside Avenue, has its own page.
The East Bench Community Council describes its area as east of Foothill Drive, from Sunnyside Avenue to Parley's and I-80, including St. Mary's, Oak Hills, and Arcadia Heights. Other streets that people still call the east bench are Salt Lake City too. Tell us the cross streets when you book so we do not assume the house is in Yalecrest.
Salt Lake City issues the permit. Lehi's checklist does not travel. If the house is in a local historic district, an exterior change such as a new egress window is a question for the city before we price the opening.
We have not published an East Bench basement. The photo is an in-progress kitchenette from the library. Quote-tool rates are $52, $90, and $143 per square foot. The written number comes after the visit.
