Cottonwood Heights, Salt Lake County

Cottonwood Heights basements, at the mouth of the canyons

Cottonwood Heights is a Salt Lake County city below Big Cottonwood Canyon and Little Cottonwood Canyon. The houses along Wasatch Boulevard and in the older subdivisions are mostly 1960s through 1990s, with later rebuilds mixed in.

Those basements were often finished when the house was built. The job is a redo of a dated downstairs, not a bare concrete basement in a new subdivision, and not a cabin up the canyon. If the property is up the canyon rather than in the city, say so. That can be a different jurisdiction.

Cottonwood Heights permits are not Sandy's and not Salt Lake City's. We look at ceiling height on the sloping lots before we talk about rooms.

The drive from Lehi is I-15 and then east, past Sandy. We come for a full finish. The photo is an in-progress kitchenette, not a Cottonwood Heights address. Rates are $52, $90, and $143 per square foot.
