Alpine, Utah County
Alpine basements on lots that are not flat
Alpine is in Utah County, east of Highland, at the base of the mountains. Custom and semi-custom houses here often sit on grade that changes. A basement can be a walkout on the slope rather than a flat unfinished box.
That grade changes headroom, daylight, and how you get out of the downstairs. We measure it. We do not treat an Alpine basement like an Eagle Mountain basement that was left as a rectangle of concrete under a production house.
Alpine is its own city. Its permits are not Lehi's, even though the shop at 3896 W 1850 N is a direct drive down the valley. An apartment downstairs still has to be allowed here before we price a second kitchen.
The photograph is an in-progress kitchenette, not an Alpine basement. Planning rates are $52, $90, and $143 per square foot. The written bid follows the visit.
